Sasami & Jia Pet — Lodge Room — 4.19.25
I was greeted by two fluffy canines and a ticket vendor at the Lodge Room ticket entrance for Sasami, the two curious and friendly dogs I would have definitely stolen if I got a chance. Despite not coming home with new friends, calm dogs at the entrance are always a good sign.
First up was the energetic and bubbly Jia Pet. The mix of electronic, pop, and deconstruction was interesting to hear. It reminded me of a K-pop version of Le Tigre.
“Does anyone like metal?” Sasami asked the crowd, gassing them up with her drummer’s double bass drum. Sasami’s entrance was grand, like a pop star. She was glammed out and playing with her audience like a master puppeteer. Her stage presence and aura were palpably felt in the venue, and she knew it—a true master at her craft.
